KAYN ARRIVED EARLY MONDAY MORNING to the conference room and waited for the others to arrive.
He had hosted the second quarterly Board of Directors meeting for the Bank on Saturday and spent Sunday in his office completing security reports. As Chief Executive Officer he had been given security clearance to work with both Federal and International Security Agencies on matters involving money laundering.
Late Sunday night he had received a call from Security Intelligence reporting that fingerprint identification confirmed the arrest by local authorities of Kim Chan So; who Kayn knew had evaded Federal Agencies since boarding an international flight with a female companion over six months ago.
The arrest of Kim Chan So had put the Department of Foreign Affairs on high security alert. The local authorities knew their detainee as Wei Shai and had no idea of who they were holding. The Immigration Department was notified when no identification could be verified. Fingerprinting scans were sent to the Federal Security Intelligence Service, with Foreign Affairs identifying him as Kim Chan So, the son of an Asian exiled leader.
The Commission has been attempting to intervene and revoke all paper work on his arrest as it was imperative to remove all records of his existence for the purpose of National Security.
Since the political takeover in his state, Kim Chan So, together with his family had been identified through Interpol as having multiple contracts on their lives, all directed and contracted from the Asian Criminal Organizations (AOC). Political leaders within the State were accusing them of fleeing with millions of dollars and ancient equities.
The conference room suspended above the 49th floor and tiered down to the open offices was contained by bronze reflective float glass. Other than a board table and chairs no other amenities were available in this secured room. At exactly 6:50 a.m. the elevator doors opened and off came eight individuals; unassuming in their appearance. Anyone passing this group would not have suspected or believed that they represented positions within the Federal Security Intelligence Service, Foreign Affairs and NATO. Once the elevator door closed Kayn inserted his master key to lock off all service to the conference room.
Each taking a chair around the table and emptying, from their unassuming tote bags, multiple files, photographs and tracking data. Kayn recognized the photographs as being taken from the north side of the 12th floor of the Tower.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, we have work to do,” Kayn began the meeting.
Kayn learnt that Kim Chan So had been living in the City under an assumed name. International Affairs had a lead on the contact used to purchase the apartment in the securely staffed building. Intelligence had provided hundreds of photographs identifying several members of the AOC, who had successfully camped out in their cars on the four interconnecting streets surrounding the apartment building. Kim Chan So entered and departed the building for several weeks undetected by using multiple vehicles and disguises, until the early morning hours on Sunday when a car chase ensued through the downtown streets. Police were in pursuit of the vehicle that Kim Chan So was travelling in as well the unidentified vehicles following behind him. Kim Chan So circled the laneway and came out onto the street intentionally colliding with the police car; at this point the other vehicles disappeared before the Police could exit their vehicle.
His companion although witnessed in the vehicle was not present at the time of the arrest and had not returned to their apartment since the arrest.
Several attempts by Federal Affairs to interview Kim Chan So had failed by his refusal to cooperate; he had presented himself to the police as not understanding English requiring a translator.
All Agencies agreed that he must be released from local authorities. Security Intelligent review confirmed on Sunday that four International Agencies would share in monitoring Kim Chan So’s activity. He had not given reason for Federal Officials to step in and the Intelligence report directed the Officers to provide security for his ongoing safety while in the Country.
Kayn has been given data on the multiple wire transfers that may have involved Kim Chan So.
It was agreed that they would reconvene on Thursday, not on the 49th floor, but on the 12th floor office held by the Security Intelligence Service, fronted as an employment placement agency.
